Shiatsu and Trauma
Since completing my Shiatsu training, I have specialized in incorporating somatic trauma therapy (somatic means “concerning the body”) into my Shiatsu work. Traumatic experiences activate defense responses in the body. With the help of mindful touch, we approach these patterns in order bring them into movement and integrate with whole body and mind. I design the treatments in such a way that they contain simple and practical tools for co- and self-regulation. These techniques are designed to enable you to gradually regain your safety in your body. As we gently and courageously move into the relevant spaces together, there will be a real-time integration that will have a positive impact on your daily life and sense of self.
